Things That Apparently Exist: Lace Front Eyebrow Wigs
Seriously, the stuff you can buy from the internet never ceases to amaze me. I’ve been mourning my lack of Cara Delevingne eyebrows for years, to the point that I even briefly considered brow transplants (right up until I saw the ballpark price is around $4K). But among all the powders, pencils & tattoos I somehow missed out on lace front eyebrow wigs.
Yes, seriously.
I mean, I guess it makes sense – you can buy prosthetic hair for pretty much any other part of your body, so why not your eyebrows? It just never occurred to me, probably because they don’t seem to be available at any major retailers. They weren’t easy to track down, but Headcovers in the US seems to have a pretty good selection of shapes and colors, as does Final Touch Brows for the Australian folks. Like regular human hair wigs, they don’t come cheap – around $50 for a set that should last around 2-4 months of daily use. Or you could DIY a set if you really wanted to. Super Wig Maker on youtube has a great demo video on how it’s done. Which, by the way, gave me a new appreciation for the amount of work that goes into wig-making (no wonder they’re so expensive!).
I was a little let down that I didn’t see these before I had my eyebrows tattooed on, but in the end I still think the tattoo may be a little more cost effective. But on the other hand, this might be a better option for temporary hair loss, or if you’re just not ready to commit to something more permanent.
