Fall Polishes: Zoya Entice & Ignite Collections

[cf-shortcode plugin=”acf” field=”press_sample”]

For entirely selfish reasons, I’m ready for it to be fall. One – it’s ragweed season right now, which I’m massively allergic to, so I’m ready for it to just be over. Two – I’ve been updating my fall wardrobe and I’m ready to start wearing my pretty new things. Three – so the barista at Starbucks will stop giving me a funny look because I ordered a hot drink when it’s 85 & 70% humidity outside.  Soon.

When October finally does get here (I realize fall technically starts in September, but someone please tell that to our local weather) I’ll be all set on polishes though, because Zoya’s new fall collections landed on my doorstep yesterday – and they make me want to put on a sweater and boots, weather be damned.

Zoya IgniteThe Ignite collection has six metalic glitter shades. I’m glad I got the chance to swatch these, because I was surprised at how much nicer they look on the nails than in the bottle (swatches below in a sec). The colors are:

  • Remy – Zoya describes it as indigo with copper and gold metallic glitter – but the blue base gives the glitter a distinctly green cast, making it come off as a turquoise-blue.
  • Yuna – Gunmetal grey with bronze glitter; the glitter gives it a bit of an olive cast.
  • Sansa – This was the most surprising one – it looked to me like a brown gold in the bottle, but it’s actually a deep eggplant with gold shimmer.
  • Autumn – Coppery orange with gold glitter.
  • Teigen – This was the other shock. The way the glitter settles in the bottle, it looks like a red-gold, but nope – violet-pink with gold shimmer.
  • India – Deep red with fine copper shimmer.

Zoya Entice CollectionThe entice collection, on the other hand, is all creme all the time, and what you see is pretty much what  you get.

  • Veronica – Deep wine burgundy.
  • Margo – This one makes me think of wine too – maybe a full-bodied syrah?
  • Claire – Is it burgundy? Is it brown? I’m going to settle on chocolate cherry.
  • Nyssa – Warm-toned hot cocoa
  • Ryan – Deep indigo – Zoya notes it was released for Timo Weiland’s AW14 Collection show.
  • Genevieve – Pure, dark gunmetal grey.

Do you want to see swatches? I bet you want to see swatches:

Zoya Ignite & Entice Swatches

L to R: Remy, Yuna, Sansa, Autumn, Tiegen, India, Veronica, Margo, Claire, Nyssa, Ryan, Genevieive

I’m really impressed with Claire, Ryan and Genevieve – they’re dark enough that they should risk going black, but even after the second coat they keep to their true colors. All the shades have great coverage in two coats and apply smoothly. I haven’t had a chance to test them for wear time yet, but Zoya polishes usually make it through 5-7 days for me. Now to decide which one to wear first….
