Rouge Bunny Rouge Swatches: Face Products

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw my excitement last week when I was alerted to the fact that Rouge Bunny Rouge is now being sold at a boutique near me (thanks to Jillian for letting me know!). I’ve wanted to check them out for ages now, and my cravings only got worse when I got my first RBR product – the Blush Wand in Rubens – from my friend Diana who runs the SparklingPink blog. Which I still need to post about, because she got me some other pretty things that I’m really excited about too! But I’m getting off track here.

So, yesterday I headed off to Circe, the boutique that has the treasure trove of RBR. I mentioned them last fall (here), when I found out they carry Jouer. And let me tell you, that store is dangerous for my wallet. They carry great clothing brands – Diane Von Furstenburg, Velvet by Graham & Spencer, Mother denim, etc – and all sorts of neat home stuff and accessories. On this particular trip I found out I need to buy some Malin+Goetz candles and I also discovered Gillian Julius bracelets, which are definitely on my wishlist for whatever the next gift-giving holiday is. But as usual, the main point of the trip was to visit their Beauty Bar. Sloan, the makeup artist who runs the Beauty Bar, was out today – wedding season has started – but I’ve spoken to him on previous visits and he’s incredibly nice and knowledgeable. Not to mention having great taste in product lines – aside from RBR and Jouer, they carry Kevyn Aucoin, Lipstick Queen, Paul & Joe, Mario Badescu, Malin+Goetz and Fragonard. If you happen to be in Louisville for the races next weekend (or any other time), I highly recommend stopping by. I think they’re going to be closed on Derby Day (Sunday, May 3), but they’ll be open on that Saturday.

The staff at Circe were kind enough to let me play in their makeup all afternoon – seriously, I was there for at least two hours – and of course I swatched everything in sight! There are just a few too many pictures for one post, so I’m splitting this into three sections – face, lips and eyes. I didn’t spend enough time with the products to form any definite opinions on them, but if you want my first impressions on any of them, feel free to ask!
