Gift Guide: Mother’s Day

I feel like I just put together my holiday gift guides, and somehow it’s already time to start shopping for Mother’s Day. How did that happen? Holidays always sneak up on me, so I’ve just discovered a new perk of keeping an editorial calendar – no more last minute holiday shopping! Though Mother’s Day is May 11, so it’s time to get cracking. Here are some of my top picks for gift ideas!

Sample Society, BeautyBar, $165 for 12 months

Not sure about everyone else, but my mom is one of those who gets tired of beauty products pretty quickly, and hates buying stuff and then discovering she doesn’t like it. Sample Society always has good brands (I’ve gotten Alterna, Tatcha, Butter London, Murad, etc), so it’s a great way to give things a test run. It does skew a little more toward skincare/haircare than some subscription boxes, fyi.

 Illume Candle in Anemone, Nordstrom, $33

I actually got a mini of this in one of my Sample Society boxes, and the fresh scent is perfect for summer.

 Laura Mercier Enlightenment Palette, Sephora, $55

I don’t think it’s any secret that I think Laura Mercier products are amazing. Even the shimmer finishes are never over the top, so this palette is perfect for moms who love makeup.

 Nine West Infinity Scarf, Nordstrom, $32

A scarf is an easy way to finish an outfit, and in my opinion the infinity ones are the best – no fancy wrapping methods needed!

 Tommy Hilfiger Sunglasses, Nordstrom, $145

Not only do they look chic, sunglasses help ward off those ‘angry 11’ wrinkles by keeping you from squinting!
