Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: My Picks for Beauty Gift With Purchase

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale early access is on for Nordstrom cardholders! Which means I’ve still got a few days before I can shop it, because I don’t have their card (oh well). If you’re in the same boat, you can check out the anniversary sale catalog here. On the bright side, the best part of the sale in my humble opinion is the beauty gifts with purchase and they already have those listed for everyone to see. I live for GWP’s, so naturally I’ve already scoped out what I think are the best ones, and what I would (hypothetically of course) put in my cart to make them mine.

Samples & Beauty GWP

To start off with, during the sale they’re doing 5 mystery samples with any beauty purchase instead of the usual three – you can pick either the men’s or women’s version. I don’t know what’s in it – it’s a mystery after all – but based on their usual offerings I’m betting some combination of skincare and fragrance.

They’ve also got an incredible GWP this month with any $75 beauty/fragrance/grooming purchase – a canvas cosmetics bag filled with around 20 skincare, fragrance and makeup samples. There are three options with slightly different samples depending on the code – you can see all the details here. It’s an excellent deal, especially since the minimum spend is under a hundred bucks. I actually picked it up with an order recently since it was available before the sale; I got the CREAM version since that one has a mini Charlotte Tilbury lipstick and I’ve been wanting to try those out.

On top of that, they do a TON of brand-specific GWPs during the Anniversary Sale, so if you’ve got your eye on something anyway you can get a little extra. I always like the ones that have a lower spend, and I’m also always on the lookout for gifts that come with stuff I was thinking about anyway.

DERMAFLASH

DERMAFLASH is available at Nordstrom now – it’s a high-tech beauty gadget that gives you the same benefits of dermaplaning, but at home and without paying medi-spa prices every time. Their GWP is a cosmetics case with two spare cartridges. It comes with any DERMAFLASH purchase. They’ll also be releasing an in-store exclusive Lilac version of the device at a special price ($126.63 vs the usual $189).

Laura Mercier

As usual, the Laura Mercier GWP comes with quite a few goodies without a super high spend. With a $125 Laura Mercier purchase you get a cosmetics bag plus samples of

• Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 in Nude (0.5 oz.)
• Caviar Stick Eye Color in Sugar Frost (0.03 oz.)
• Lip Glacé in Pink Pop (0.1 oz.)
• Full Blown Mascara (0.2 oz.)

My picks to meet the spend:

• The new Matte Caviar Stick ($29) – the original shimmer ones have incredible staying power so I have really high expectations for these. There are six neutral-ish colors, so I’d grab two to make a simple eye look.
• The Nordstrom-exclusive All Day Radiance Set ($79) – it’s a great intro tLarger Than Life Long Wear Eyeliner in Via Veneto (0.01 oz.)o the brand since it has travel sizes of the Translucent Loose Setting Powder & Mini Velour Puff (0.33 oz.), original Caviar Stick Eye Color (0.05 oz.), Lip Glacé in Rose Gold (0.16 oz.), Foundation Primer Radiance (0.5 oz.), Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight 01 (0.17 oz.) plus another cosmetics bag (really, can you ever have too many of those?).

NARS

The NARS gift is yours with a $100 NARS purchase and includes

• Audacious Mascara (0.12 oz.)
• Velvet Lip Glide (0.07 oz., shade varies)
• Larger Than Life Long Wear Eyeliner in Via Veneto (0.01 oz.)
• NARS cosmetics bag

My picks to meet the spend:

• The new Bord de Plage highlighting and bronzing palette ($59) since it has allll the colors you need for a summer glow
• Unfiltered Cheek Palette ($59) – NARS blushes are really pigmented and long-lasting, and this is one of their few blush palettes that doesn’t have the ubiquitous Orgasm/Laguna combo in it!

Shiseido

If you’ve wanted to try out some Shiseido skincare, this is the perfect time to do it because their GWP only requires a $65 purchase. It includes

• White Lucent MultiBright Night Cream (0.35 oz.)
• White Lucent MicroTargeting Spot Corrector (0.3 oz.)
• Urban Environment UV Protection Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 40 (0.57 oz.)
• Perfect Cleansing Oil (1.3 oz.)

My picks to meet the spend:

• Rouge Rouge Lipstick ($28) – I won’t elaborate too much because I already reviewed them here, but let’s just say this formula is amazing
• Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation ($45) – it’s really long-wearing and has a gorgeous natural finish
