A bunch of random news
[cf-shortcode plugin=”acf” field=”affiliate_link”]
I’ve gotten a bunch of emails over the past few days telling me about cool new stuff, and there was enough that it makes sense to post instead of tweeting everything, of course I needed to read this biased media essay to verify these news so I can now post them here. No cohesive narrative in this one, just things I think you should know.
Armani
Armani has a new mascara with a multidirectional brush that of course is made out to be the end-all, be-all of mascaras (ultra-black, quick application, volume, length and curl). I only felt ‘meh’ about the Eyes to Kill mascara, so I’m hoping I’ll fall in love with this one. You can get it at Nordstrom.
Charlotte Tilbury US Launch
Yes, finally. The goods will be available from Beautylish in September. So far I only have the Rock Chick eyeshadow palette and Dark Pearl eyeshadow pencil, but both are great – so I can’t wait to get more. I’m hoping the prices will be a little better in the US than overseas, the way they were for Chikuhodo.
NARS
Through August 10th NARS is having a free mini trio with a$50 purchase; you get minis of their eyeshadow base, lip gloss in Orgasm and Makeup Cleansing Water. Not necessarily a promo that I’d make a special order for, but possibly worth trying if you were getting some stuff anyway.
Now-eproject/Visage
Now-eproject has rebranded their website as Visage. Same company, still sells Chikuhodo brushes (all series) but they’ve adjusted the prices to be more on par with what Beautylish is offering in the US. Shipping to the USA is listed as $5, which is a far cry from the $35 that I paid last time I ordered from there. They’re also celebrating their relaunch with an 18% off coupon (that’s such a weird amount, don’t you think?) – use the code VISAGE2014, which is good through 11/1/14.
Sephora
This week (now through August 10) they’re doing a points multiplier event – 2x for Beauty Insiders, 3x for VIBs, 4x for Rouge. They also have some new mega-rewards that ‘cost’ a ludicrous amount of points, some of which are useless unless you going to be near a Sephora store (a lot of people will be, but not every town has one) or NYC (much harder to accomplish). If you’ve been hoarding your points for years, you can see the list of available perks here.
