As much as I’ve been enjoying the summer weather…. who am I kidding? It’s averaging 80-some degrees with 70% humidity, and even though I love warm weather it’s starting to feel a little bit oppressive. I’m looking forward to cooler days, but for now at least I have fall collections to distract me. The first ones to grace my doorstep? Zoya’s Naturel Deux collection, an updated edition of spring’s Naturel collection (which you can see on PolishAholic).
Like the previous set, Naturel Deux comes with six creme shades – three neutrals and three mauves. I can already see myself wearing these while I’m curled up in a huge cozy sweater (note to self: must buy a huge cozy sweater) sipping coffee in front of the fireplace.
- Spencer – medium camel tan
- Chanelle – medium-deep mocha
- Emilia – straight up black coffee (though it has a bit of an olive-y undertone)
- Madeline – mauvey rose
- Aubrey – muted plum
- Marnie – deep plum
All of the shades are what you’d expect of Zoya’s creme polishes – slightly thicker-textured, a teensy bit uneven on the first coat but full coverage on the second. On the nails they all show up a bit deeper and more vibrant than they look in the bottle – or on the Zoya website, for that matter. Most of them will work really nicely as everyday shades for fall; the one possible exception is Emilia, which is a little bit more dramatic. Still, it’s a nice alternative to black polish if you want to go dark without veering off into a more gothic look. The lighter shades especially are calling my name at the moment – in face, I put Madeline on right away and I’m pretending that the bright pink on my toes totally goes with it.
Zoya Naturel Deux polishes ($9/each) are available at zoya.com.
